The incident happened about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
ALBANY — UC Berkeley police were looking Monday for a man who they said chased a child in University Village on Sunday night.
According to a police advisory, a 9-year-old girl had just finished playing with friends and was walking home in the area of Gooding Way and Ohlone Avenue about 7:30 p.m. Police said that as the child was doing so, an older male started to chase her.The area is near Cal’s student housing complex. According to police, the suspect left the area in an older black, two-door car. Police did not identify the make or the model of it.
Police encouraged anyone with information to call 510-642-6760 and encouraged people to walk with others at all times.
