While Filipinos in general hit the break this Lenten Season, Barangay Ginebra and TNT, the last two teams standing in the 2022-23 PBA Governors' Cup will be busy concocting their own respective game plans as they prepare for Game One of the best-of-seven Finals series set this Easter Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Ginebra coach Tim Cone admitted that as much as the team enjoyed a longer break after surprisingly scoring a three-game sweep of powerhouse San Miguel Beer in the middle of last week, the Gin Kings had to find a way to keep themselves sharp.'The longer break poses its own problem because it's not simple.
' 'So that's on us as a team to figure out how to keep moving forward and not just being sharp but getting sharper,' explained the all-time winningest coach in PBA history. 'That's our job, that's not easy.' Asked if Ginebra players will get a day off this Holy Week, Cone said they don't intend to slow down in preparation for the series-opening game.
