GILA RIVER — Gila River, Casa Grande and the Bureau of Indian Affairs fire crews extinguished a fire that started Monday morning near Olberg Road and Highway 87.
The brush fire has been turned over to the BIA Wildlands crew to handle any hot spots. As of now SR 87 has not been effected and the fire has been extinguished. — Gila River Police March 7, 2022 The area has been turned over to the BIA Wildlands crew to handle any hot spots. Gila River Fire officials told ABC`15 the fire burned in the river bottom and had"lots of fuel" to keep going.
