The Giants face a big game vs. the Commanders, and it’s an especially important for Daniel Jones in his contract year.
“We’re extremely excited,’’ Jones said with his usual not-very-excited tone of voice. “We’re fired up, ready to go. It’s a divisional game, a meaningful game in December. This is where you want to be, these are the games you want to play in. We’re all fired up and can’t wait to get out there.’’The Giants hold down the No. 6 seed in the NFC postseason standings; the Commanders are in the final playoff spot at No. 7. This will be the first of two Giants-Commanders games in three weeks.
Ever since Jones exploited major gaps in the Jaguars’ defense back in Week 7 and ran 11 times for 107 yards, opponents went on alert not to let that happen to them. Jones’ rushing attempts the past four games: 6, 5, 7, 3. His rushing yards the past four games: 20, 24, 50, 14.
