Daniel Jones is dealing with a neck injury.
Does Jones have a chance to play in Sunday’s winnable home game against the 3-3 Commanders?Jones still hasn’t been cleared for contact, which means he won’t be a full participant in Friday’s practice. You’d think that means Jones won’t play Sunday. But Daboll didn’t rule it out.
“We’ll see,” Daboll said, when asked if that clearance is coming. “We’re talking to medical people and just taking it day by day.” This will be the sixth straight missed game for Thomas and third straight for Schmitz, though Daboll has said neither player has a season-ending injury. Peart will sit for a second straight week.
Jones was a limited participant in practice Wednesday and Thursday — after not practicing at all last week. Jones missed the Giants’ Week 6 loss at the Bills — his first missed game due to injury since 2021, when he also dealt with a neck injury. Jones got hurt in the Week 5 loss at Miami. Jones is expected to do more of the same during Friday’s practice — which is to say, throw as a limited participant, while not participating in team periods.
