Geraldine Viswanathan is a big fan of romantic comedies — but she’d like to see more diverse casting in the genre.
“From the outside looking in, I do think it’s a bit more unusual to see a woman of color in that role,” the Miracle Workers alum told the outlet. “I just finished watching One Day. So I’m like, ‘Go off!’” Sweeney, 26, and Powell, 35, starred in Anyone But You, which hit theaters last year. The movie, which was a modern retelling of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, earned $200 million at the worldwide box office.
