EXCLUSIVE — Congressional hopeful Kellen Curry says he is on a mission to restore"honest leadership" back to his district, which has been rocked by controversy over scandal-plagued Rep. George Santos .
After flipping the district, which encompasses the North Shore of Long Island, Santos became embroiled in scandal after revelations emerged that he embellished vast swaths of his resume and backstory. For instance, he claimed to be a"descendant" of Holocaust survivors and to have earned a degree from New York University.
But dispatching Santos isn't Curry's only focus. A self-described"kitchen-table Republican," Curry is keen on mounting an issues-oriented campaign, with a particular interest in the economy and foreign policy. Curry is a military veteran who served two tours in Afghanistan and worked at JPMorgan as an equities research analyst. He started off his political journey as a Democrat, growing up in Oklahoma.
