Geno’s career night marred by Seattle’s defensive performance.
Mike MacDonald’s Seattle Seahawks were in Motor City on Monday night for the rookie head coach’s first prime time game against the Detroit Lions. There was a whole lot of concern about the Seahawks defense heading into this game with Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy II, Boye Mafe, and Uchenna Nwosu all ruled out for this contest, particularly with the Lions dynamic backfield duo of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs.
This second half though, was by all accounts, an offensive masterpiece. Geno Smith and Ryan Grubb found something tonight, and the return of Kenneth Walker III was so worth the wait. Injuries aside, our defense tonight was questionable at best, but the thing I’ll be losing sleep over is that egregious offensive pass interference call against Tyler Lockett that negated the 4th down conversion by Geno and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
