Gap Inc. GPS is planning to lay off hundreds of corporate workers in a bid to make the company “more nimble and less bureaucratic,” The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter. The cuts would go deeper than layoffs in September, which affected mostly corporate jobs in New York and San Francisco, the newspaper said. The retailer in March forecast falling sales and said it would cut executives and thin out its layers of management to control costs.
