THE Department of Budget and Management has released P5 billion worth of funds intended for the rebuilding, rehabilitation, and development of conflict-affected communities in the Bangsamoro region.

The law mandates the National Government to provide the SDF with P5 billion each year for a period of 10 years, to the Barmm Government “for the rebuilding, rehabilitation, and development of its conflict-affected communities.”"Tulad po ng ipinangako ko, at alinsunod po sa tagubilin ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos, patuloy po ang DBM na aalalay sa Barmm sa abot ng aming makakaya.

The National Government earlier said the five-month siege in Marawi City in 2017, the most recent conflict in the region, resulted in P17 billion worth of damage and lost opportunities.
