Jennifer Garner and Paul Walter Hauser have signed on for the leading roles in the upcoming true-crime movie Fruitcake.
Garner and Hauser are set to play a married couple, who embezzled money from a Texas bakery in order to support their luxurious lifestyle. The project will be based on Katy Vine’s Texas Monthly article Just Deserts about the real-life story of Sandy and Kay Jenkins.“The film will follow a seemingly upstanding middle-class couple who went on to embezzle millions from popular Texas-based business Collin Street Bakery,” reads the initial logline.
Fruitcake will be directed by Max Winkler from a 2016 Black List screenplay written by Trey Selman. The film is executive produced by Brian O’Shea, Danny Gusman, Bob McNutt, Scott Brown and Megan Creydt, with Red Sanders and Selman producing.Maggie Dela Paz has been writing about the movie and TV industry for more than four years now.
