Four people including two businesspersons were wounded during a shooting incident perpetrated by two unidentified assailants in Barangay Poblacion Zone 5 on Friday afternoon, March 10, in this town.
The police identified the victims as Jay-R Fortuno Lim, 39, a businessman from Sta. Teresita, Batangas; Gemmalyn Evangelio, 53, businesswoman from Taal town, and two others from Taal town -- Jasper Torre, 36, and Joel Fortuno Cabales, 52.
Lim sustained gunshot wounds on the back of the head, left chest and left arm, Evangelio on her right hand, Torre on his left leg, and Cabales a scratch on his right arm. Based on the report, around 3:30 p.m.. Lim was driving a pick-up truck along Calle Ramon Diokno, with Evangelio, Torre and Cabales also on board.
Upon reaching the corner of Calle Jose P. Rizal Street, the unidentified suspects shot them several times simultaneously using a caliber .45 and 9mm pistols, then fled.The Taal police conducted a follow-up operation and investigation and looked for witnesses for possible identity of the suspects and to determine the motives.
