According to police, Atkinson did not respond to a scene in October after being sent to a domestic disturbance call with another officer and was untruthful about his location.
However, the department said, a police report shows Atkinson took custody of the property Jan. 5. Fort Worth police said Atkinson “supplemented the report with a false statement” that said he lost the property in his vehicle and then found the property and tagged it the day after it was seized.
