SUGAR LAND, Texas — A positive West Nile virus mosquito sample has been collected in Fort Bend County, public health officials announced Tuesday.
said the positive West Nile virus sample was collected from a mosquito trapping site inside the 77498 ZIP code, an area bordered by FM 1464, Highway 90, Eldridge Road and Bissonnet Street. “After the recent rains and warmer first months of the year, we are seeing an increase in mosquito populations. We remind our residents to enjoy the outdoors but remember to protect themselves and their families from diseases transmitted by mosquitoes,” FBCHHS Director Dr. Gale-Lowe said.
