The US is again promoting to form an alliance from among its allies in Asia principally aimed at containing China’s alleged aggressive behavior in the South China Sea.
It is not only the fear of seeing China overtake the US in the field of economy it once mightily monopolized. For instance, inviting Japan and South Korea to join the alliance is believed by many as a risky proposition. First, the US itself. Unlike the previous alliances spearheaded by the US during the Cold War against the communist states of the then Soviet Union and China, practically all the blocs created to contain these two socialist giants were all spearheaded by the US.
