Ruby Gonzalez was a former UCISD officer who was present and terminated after the Robb Elementary School massacre of 2022. She has been promoted from a Communications Officer in their dispatch division to their patrol division. "Ms. Gonzalez has been a valued member of our department since May 2023, consistently demonstrating her commitment to the people of Uvalde and their safety. Having previously served in our patrol division, Ms. Gonzalez expressed a strong interest in returning to the field, and I have personally spoken with several members of our community who have positively endorsed her transition back to serving as a patrol officer.
