“I’m often struck before our games by the lack of delivery of the promise of what our national anthem represents,” Former Philadelphia Phillies and current San Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler wrote about gun safety.

The former MLB player wrote that his father taught him to stand for the anthem, but to also have a seat when he believed his country wasn’t representing its people well.Kapler said he thought about taking a knee during the playing of the anthem on Wednesday, but his “body didn’t listen,” to his brain.
