Former Ohio State linebacker Joshua Perry will is joining NBC as an analyst as the network prepares for its first season of televising Big Ten football this fall.
A source confirmed tothat Joshua Perry, who is currently an analyst for Big Ten Network and a co-host of “The Rally” on Bally Sports, is joining NBC as a studio analyst. The news was first reported byPerry, who was also previously a co-host of the Eleven Warriors Radio Hour on 97.1 The Fan, will be part of the network’s new college football studio show, which is also expected to travel to marquee games, similarly to ESPN’s College GameDay and FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff.
NBC will broadcast its first season of Big Ten football this fall, including weekly Saturday night games, after agreeing to split the conference’s television rights with FOX and CBS for the next seven years. NBC has already announced it, which will kick off at 7:30 p.m., with more Buckeye games likely to be added to the network’s schedule over the course of the season.
NBC announced in February that Noah Eagle, Todd Blackledge and Kathryn Tappen will serve as the game commentary team for its first season of Big Ten football. Maria Taylor is expected to host NBC’s studio show, and Awful Announcing reported that NBC is also pursuing former Wisconsin star J.J. Watt and former Penn State quarterback/running back Michael Robinson as candidates to join Perry as analysts.
