A former Mat-Su Borough School District substitute teacher was arrested Thursday on charges of sexually abusing two children, and troopers say he may have had additional victims.

A court document on the charges says the incidents happened at or near Wasilla, took place on Dec. 15 and involved two 7-year-old victims.

The document does not provide further details, including whether the incidents happened at a school. “The Alaska Bureau of Investigation Child Abuse Investigation Unit launched a thorough investigation into the allegations,” said the dispatch. “Investigators determined that 31-year-old Wasilla resident Scott Pezzini had sexually abused two juveniles.”Mat-Su school district spokeswoman Jillian Morrissey said Pezzini had been employed as a substitute from October 2020 until December.

Court records show Pezzini was arraigned in Palmer court Friday morning on two first-degree charges of sexual abuse of a minor and one second-degree charge. Troopers say Pezzini may have had additional victims, and ask anyone with information on the case to call them at 907-352-5401.
