Defining the News

Former Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa answers questions from senators at the Senate committee hearing on the so-called PDEA leaks. Former Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, Jr. confirmed his attendance Monday for the resumption of the Senate hearing on the so-called PDEA leaks.

Ochoa was assisted by his counsel Gilbert Viloria when he faced the Senate Public Order and Illegal Drugs committee chaired by Senator Ronald de la Rosa. The Senate panel has been looking into the alleged leaked documents linking then senator and now President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to illegal drug use.

Dismissed PDEA agent Jonathan Morales testified that the said anti-drug operations at Rockwell in Makati, which targeted Marcos and other personalities—including actress Maricel Soriano—was halted due to an alleged order from Ochoa. The former executive secretary, who served under then President Benigno Aquino III, denied he has seen any report from Morales. Ochoa also denied meeting the controversial ex-PDEA agent.
