Series against Albert Pujols, Cardinals begins final stretch of meaningful games; it's OK to scoreboard watch
Baseball in the season’s final two weeks at Petco Park has for a long time been little more than a way to pass time.

There had also been a sense of inevitability about that postseason run, as the Padres went 23-8 from Aug. 17 through the day they clinched.
It has been a different vibe inside of Petco Park much of this season. It’s no longer just a nice place to visit.“That’s why you play,” Myers said. “That’s what’s fun about it. People talk about ‘Oh, you don’t want to scoreboard watch.’ But that’s a part of the fun, not just for the players but also for the fans. I think that’s a lot of fun. So these the next 2 1/2 weeks should be good.”The Mets and Cardinals are the only remaining opponents with winning records on the Brewers’ schedule.
The Dodgers visit first. They are playing only to stay in shape and possibly to pursue the franchise record for victories .
