Mitchell Helton, 55, is accused of threatening two furniture delivery men with a weapon. Manatee County police say he was angered by their late delivery.The two men at first"dismissed his action as a show of anger toward the late delivery," the report states, and tried to calm the situation by telling him that he could make a formal complaint with their company. They called police afterwards.
An arrest report says Helton could not explain why he confronted the men with a gun. He said he was startled by someone trying to enter his home and retrieved his weapon to defend himself, according to the arrest report. He has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and remains in the Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $5,000.was arrested after he sent an email to local news outlets in which he threatened a hotel manager whom he claimed had insulted his girlfriend.
Ashworth claimed that the male hotel manager in Tampa"double charged his credit cards and kicks people out," and had sent the threat to news station Fox 13 and other media outlets. He has admitted to all accusations, according to the sheriff's office, and is charged with felony written threats to kill.
