Pugh attended the Valentino Haute Couture fall-winter 2023/2024 show in Paris wearing a nearly see-through periwinkle gown with a deep V-neck and ruffled shoulders and a long, luxurious train that billowed beautifully behind her as she walked.The dress itself was angelic and ethereal, made of the lightest, most diaphanous pale lilac fabric. The dress was a bit of an optical illusion; in certain lights, it was completely sheer on top, and in others, it appeared like a second skin.
The lilac dress comes just about a year after the pink gown and its accompanying controversy. At the time, Pugh spoke out against the conversation around her the dress and her body in it. "Listen, I knew when I wore that incredible Valentino dress that there was no way there wouldn't be a commentary on it," she wrote. “Whether it be negative or positive, we all knew what we were doing.
