Losses in agriculture in Oriental Mindoro province reached P58 million due to the floods triggered by days of rain last week, according to the latest report by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office. | mvirolaINQ /PDI

The floods damaged rice fields; fruits, vegetables and corn farms; livestock and poultry.

Naujan town incurred the most losses at P37 million, followed by Baco town at P9.8 million and Calapan City at P2.7 million.In Naujan town, four houses were washed out — one in Apitong village and three in Del Pilar village. A total of 311 families or 1,471 persons from the towns of Baco, Naujan and Victoria and Calapan City were reported to had been evacuated to 18 evacuation centers.
