Authorities urged residents in the New York towns of Highland Falls, Peekskill and Woodbury, located about an hour north of New York City, to stay home and off roads as conditions became dangerousImages and video shared to social media showed vehicles stuck in floodwaters on roads across the region, and some bridges washed out by the flooding.
