Lamborghini doesn't believe that EV technology is ready to make a supercar yet car auto cars
While the company is now confirming plans for its first EV, the fact that it will be a 2+2 grand tourer is kicking the can of electrification down the road. He did concede that in five to six years, the technology may have matured to a point where Lamborghini is ready to commit to electric propulsion, but that for a “user-oriented” car, the time was right for an EV. That suggests that the 2+2 electric grand tourer that Lamborghini produces may be quick, but it won’t be a track star. Instead, like the Urus, it will be more focused on daily driving needs. Since the SUV is the brand’s best-selling vehicle by a long shot, there is every indication that its customers are willing to buy something that isn’t a “super sports car.”
