The Dawntrail expansion for Final Fantasy XIV will feature an FFXI crossover as part of the 'Echoes of Vana'diel' Alliance Raid series. Echoes of Vana'diel is one of the most exciting additions to Dawntrail, bringing back classic heroes and villains from FF11. Final Fantasy XIV is the biggest MMO in the world, but it got that way by standing on the shoulders of giants, as FF11 was the first MMO entry in the series.
If it follows the pattern of the other Alliance Raids, then it will gradually be released in pieces as part of patch updates. Dawntrail is set to launch in 2024, so fans shouldn't expect to play any FF11 crossover content until next year at the earliest. These missions will involve groups of 24 Level 100 characters working together to face a new threat to Eorzea.
