The SkyStar Observation Wheel moved to the waterfront this past November and locals in the area say the attraction has become a fixture in the neighborhood and boosted nearby businesses
San Francisco wants to keep its Ferris wheel at Fisherman’s Wharf for another 18 months following the conclusion next month of its initial six-month run there.
“San Francisco is a city known for its incredible views, and the SkyStar on our waterfront is moving up that list,” Breed said in a press release. “This is the kind of attraction that can make our City a joy for residents and visitors alike.” City officials said that the Ferris wheel has welcomed more than 90,000 riders since making its move to the waterfront this past fall. Ridership since then has doubled in comparison to the same time in 2022, they added.
