There was a big difference in average high and average low temperatures
The National Weather Service says that a combination of clear, dry weather during the day and night, and light winds near the coast, made February one of the warmest and one of the coldest Februarys on record.
The average high temperature in San Diego for February was 69.6 degrees, making it the 10th warmest February ever. And the average low of 45.1 degrees was the 10 coldest.The temperature hit 91 on February 12, the highest reading ever recorded in San Diego in February. And the daily low temperature fell to 38 on February 25.San Diego International Airport recorded 0.70 inches of rain in February, far below the monthly average of 2.2 inches.
The weather service says the airport has recorded 4.45 inches of precipitation since the rainy season began on October 1. That’s 2.69 inches below average.
