The Roman Catholic Church observes the Solemnity of Corpus Christi on Sunday, June 11, in commemoration of the institution by Jesus Christ of the Holy Eucharist to His apostles during the Last Supper.
At the Corpus Christi Parish in Novaliches, Quezon City, Novaliches Bishop Roberto Gaa will celebrate the fiesta mass at 9 a.m. A procession followed by a holy mass will be held at 5 p.m.Commemorative rites will also be held at the Santa Cruz Parish also known as the Archdiocesan Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Pillar Parish in Manila.
The feast is observed by the Roman Catholic Church as well as certain Western Orthodox, Lutheran, and Anglican churches.
