Screenwriters Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel have been tapped for Fast & Furious 11, days after Fast X director Louis Leterrier confirmed his return.
The screenwriters for Fast & Furious 11 have been announced following confirmation of the film's director days earlier. Fast & Furious 11 will be a direct follow-up to the upcoming Fast X, marking the end of the Fast Saga series of films. While Fast X will be released on May 19, 2023, it's unclear how long the wait will be for the grand finale.
According to Deadline, the script for Fast & Furious 11 will the penned by screenwriters Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel. Hodson is known for her work on Bumblebee and the upcoming superhero film The Flash, while Uziel wrote 2018's The Cloverfield Paradox and 2021's Mortal Kombat. The news of their involvement in Fast & Furious 11 comes days after Fast X director Louis Leterrier was confirmed to return for the final installment in the Fast Saga.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Fast Saga Promises An Action-Packed Ending New writers for Fast & Furious 11 means the story will differ from any former ideas director Justin Lin had while he was still attached to the film. Hodson's work on large franchises like Transformers and the DCEU means she's familiar with writing exciting action sequences, a staple of Fast & Furious movies.
A new Fast X trailer teases Dom and his family will be involved in many explosive chase scenes and action sequences throughout the film. There will also be plenty of hand-to-hand combat between characters, such as Michelle Rodriguez's Letty and Charlize Theron's Cipher. If that same level of action translates to Fast & Furious 11, then the Fast Saga is destined to end with a bang.
When it comes to story details, though, it seems those won't be revealed until after Fast X roars into theaters in May. However, since Fast & Furious 11 is expected to be a companion film to Fast X, it's likely Jason Momoa's Dante Reyes will continue as the series' final villain. How explosive his conflict with Dom's family becomes in Fast X might determine how action-packed Fast & Furious 11 will be.
