Carb Day's concert returned to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Indy 500 weekend. Wet conditions did not appear to dampen the event.

After a two-ear hiatus, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway finally welcomed back thousands of race fans on Friday for the Miller Lite Carb Day concert. The Central Indiana weather, however, did not hold up its end of the reunion.

Poor Springfield would take a tumble on stage , lose the grip on his guitar mid-solo in the deluge and have one of his microphones die in the middle of"Don't Talk to Strangers." In the middle of Springfield's set, a man asked for and was granted a microphone to propose to his girlfriend from the front row. Luckily, she said yes, sparing Springfield any further comic mishap.

George Lewis has been coming to Carb Day for 20 years and said his favorite performances in that span were the B-52s and Kid Rock . "We just love live music," she said when asked which act she was looking forward to the most."I want to see Rick Springfield, but also ."Ford, clad head-to-toe in red leather, was the first of several singers to lead supergroup Kings of Chaos as the concerts final act.

He then followed it up with an almost cartoonish impression job of AC/DC's"Highway to Hell," which seemed like one driving song too many. John Waite then gave us strong versions of his 1984 hit"Missing You" and a much better cover of Led Zeppelin's"Whole Lotta Love."
