Fans mark anniversary of Cory Monteith's death with 6YearsWithoutCory tweets to celebrate late 'Glee' star
So many fans shared their thoughts on Monteith Saturday that the #6YearsWithoutCory tag became a top trending topic on all of Twitter.
The Canadian actor was found dead on July 13, 2013, in his Vancouver hotel room. He was only 31 at the time of his passing. Toxicology reports ultimately concluded that Monteith had died as a result of the combination of heroin and alcohol in his system. Authorities found no reason to believe it was"anything other than a most tragic accident."
Earlier in 2013, Monteith had entered into a treatment center to try to face and deal with his drug use, which had a history going back to his teenage years. The actor missed filming some episodes ofbecause of his absence, but the show had hoped he would eventually return. Monteith's last in-character appearance on the show was Episode 19 of Season 4,"Sweet Dreams," which first aired April 18, 2013.
