The family of Ayşenur Eygi, a 26-year-old Seattle activist killed in the West Bank during a protest, continues to seek answers and justice. Eygi was shot in the head while observing a protest against an Israeli settlement. Her family met with Secretary of State Antony Blinken but expressed disappointment over the lack of concrete action and a perceived lack of attention from the U.S. government.
Standing at the dock where Hamid Ali used to come with his wife, Ayşenur Eygi, he told FOX 13 Seattle that being there without her now is bittersweet."It’s a little heavy, but it’s also a nice memory," Ali said.FOX 13 Seattle talked with him as he reflected on what the last four months without her have been like.On Sept. 6, 26-year-old Eygi was in the West Bank at a protest against an illegal Israeli settlement.
"We have made clear to them that when they finish that investigation, we want to be briefed on the results of it," Miller said. "We want to know exactly what happened, and why it happened, and who was at fault, and what Israel is doing to make sure such incidents don’t happen again because as I said, her death never should have happened. She was there attending a peaceful protest, and we want to see the answers and we want to give her family answers.
