The family of Yvonnete Plaza, a model and businesswoman shot in front of their house in Davao City on December 28, 2022, are seeking justice.
According to a "24 Oras" report by GMA Regional TV One Mindanao's Kent Abrigana, Yvonnete was loved by her friends and family. Her mother, Henrietta, described her as "generous, understanding, at thoughtful."
“Jolly siya na person very happy. She's the life of the party, so everybody loves her," said Attorney Arnel Gonzales, Yvonnette's friend.While many were shocked by her death, Henrietta said there was also false information circulating about her daughter online. “Alam ko heresay yun ang mga sinasabi niya, yung iba hindi naman totoo pero pinalabas nila na ganito, mga negatibo," she said.“Sana makita ka na, mabigyan ng hustisya si Yvonne. Para maging panatag din siya at kami rin na mga magulang nya,” Henrietta said.
Meanwhile, the Davao Police offered a P1 million reward to those who can help speed up the investigation. The Philippine Army also launched a separate investigation into the matter after an Army general was allegedly implicated in Plaza's death.
