The British government is expected to publish a white paper next week setting out new rules around how tech firms will be policed in the UK.

The UK government paper comes as governments around the world grapple with how to deal with the proliferation of hate speech and other harmful content online. The internet has historically been seen as beyond regulation but certain shifts have emboldened governments to act.
