The local government of Muntinlupa has announced the suspension of face-to-face classes in the city from May 2 to 3 as the extreme heat was expected to persist this week.
In a social media post, the city government said classes from kindergarten to Grade 12 would shift to blended learning on Thursday and Friday.On May 4, Saturday, the Alternative Learning System program will be conducted via blended learning.Suspension of face-to-face classes in private schools will be upon the discretion of the respective school administrations.
The Department of Education on Sunday suspended face-to-face classes in all public schools nationwide on April 29 to 30 due to the announced transport strike and the heat index reaching dangerous levels in many parts of the country.State weather bureau PAGASA said Monday that the scorching heat prevailing over the Philippines may continue until the middle of May.
