An excessive heat warning has been extended for inland and desert communities of Southern California as we can expect to see triple-digit temperatures all week.

The warning lasts until Thursday night, primarily impacting desert communities in northern Los Angeles County and out to the Inland Empire.

Los Angeles and Orange counties on Monday will see sunny, hot conditions with a high of 87. Conditions will remain similar throughout the week, with a bit of relief expected by next weekend. The valleys and the Inland Empire will see a high of 101 on Monday, and then the upper 90s for most of the week.

At the beaches on Monday, morning fog will give way to sunshine and a high of 77 degrees by the afternoon. Mountains will be sunny and hot with a high of 85 pm Monday. Some monsoonal moisture will bring a 20% chance of thunderstorms.Track the rain with LIVE MEGADOPPLER 7000 HD interactive mapsResidents rethink 4th of July plans as heat builds across SoCal
