70-year-old William Albert Haynes, Jr. of Portland has been named the suspect. Haynes is Janette Becraft’s husband.
Police say Haynes is in police custody at a local hospital while he is being treated for a medical condition unrelated to the homicide. Officers determined the suspect was inside the home and they requested assistance from SERT and CNT in order to safely take the suspect into custody. Officers went inside the home and located an adult female who was deceased. Anyone with information about this case, who has not spoken with police, is asked to contact Detective Ryan Foote at
