UVALDE — Former school district police officer Adrian Gonzales pleaded not guilty on Thursday to 29 counts of abandoning/endangering a child for his actions during the 2022 Robb Elementary School shooting. A heavy police presence was evident outside the Uvalde County Courthouse and in the surrounding courthouse square more than an hour before the start of Gonzales' arraignment.
Remembering the victims of the Robb Elementary shooting Arredondo, 52, waived his right to an arraignment, which meant he did not have to appear in court on Thursday. Arredondo is charged with 10 counts of abandoning/endangering a child. He has pleaded not guilty. Gonzales faces one count of child endangerment for each of the 19 children killed and one for each of 10 injured survivors.
