Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg plans to appeal, but Republicans in Congress are hoping to question the former prosecutor—who worked on the Trump case before resigning last year over the supposedly slow pace toward an indictment—on Thursday.

Bragg had argued the subpoena lacked a “valid legislative purpose,” but Vyskocil disagreed, concluding that lawmakers have broad power and it’s “not the role of the federal judiciary to dictate what legislation Congress may consider or how it should conduct its deliberation.” Bragg may still appeal the decision but he has little time to do so—Jordan is seeking to question Pomerantz in a deposition on Thursday.“We respectfully disagree with the District Court’s decision and are seeking a stay pending appeal,” a Manhattan District Attorney’s office spokesperson said.
