Eunice Dwumfour, a recently elected Sayreville councilwoman, was shot multiple times in her SUV in the area of Samuel Circle in the Camelot at La Mer luxury rental community at about 7:20 p.m and pronounced dead at the scene. Before moving to Sayreville, Dwumfour lived in the Washington D.C. area, working as a contract business analyst for Marriott and Telesis HQ in Bethesda, Maryland and McLean, Virginia, according to herDwumfour was found shot multiple times in her vehicle in the area of Samuel Circle at about 7:20 p.m and pronounced dead at the scene, the prosecutor’s office and Sayreville officials said. No motive in the killing has been revealed.
Democratic Sayreville Mayor Victoria Kilpatrick said she considered Dwumfour a friend even though the two were members of different political parties. “Beyond her dedication to our community, I can share that she was a woman of deep faith and worked hard to integrate her strong Christian beliefs in to her daily life as a person and a community leader,” Kilpatrick said Thursday. “On a personal note, I can’t adequately express my feeling of sorrow at the loss of a friend.”
