The Daily Herald endorses Robert Collins, Vincent Torossy and Cynthia Henrichs in the Wauconda District 118 school board race.
This endorsement is a consensus opinion of the Daily Herald Editorial Board. Four candidates are running for three seats in the Wauconda Unit District 118 school board race.
Collins and Torossy, who were both elected to the board four years ago, clearly show knowledge of how the board works and how to work together with this current group. They want what is best for all students in the district and show unwavering support for teachers, staff and administration. Torossy, a project manager at a local carpentry business, says he is running to finish what he's started on the board. And we can see why. His passion for projects is impressive, and he specifically mentions the district's college and career readiness program and civic involvement for students. As a product of District 118, he is passionate about keeping the district the best it can be for students, staff and the community.
