Typhoon EgayPH (international name: Doksuri) is expected to pass close to or make landfall in the Babuyan Islands within the next 12 hours, causing more “violent conditions” over extreme Northern Luzon on Wednesday morning, July 26, said PAGASA. READ:
“The center of the eye of Egay was estimated based on all available data over the coastal waters of Calayan, Cagayan,” PAGASA said in its 2 a.m. bulletin.
“After passing the Babuyan Islands, Egay will turn northwestward or north-northwestward and pass over the waters south and southwest of Taiwan. It is forecast to exit the Philippine area of responsibility tomorrow morning ,” it added.Due to Egay’s strong winds, tropical cyclone wind signal No. 4 remains hoisted over the northern portion of Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands, and the northern portion of Ilocos Norte.
“Significant to severe impacts from typhoon-force winds may be experienced within the areas under Wind Signal No. 4, while moderate to significant impacts from storm-force winds may be experienced within the areas under Wind Signal No. 3,” PAGASA said.
