But even under the best circumstances, “there’s no magic elixir that says it’s going to be a success.”“Maybe another way to help this process begin at some point sooner, rather than 90 years from now, might be to think: What’s the best all of us can do for those folks who are in Uvalde who are in fifth grade, or seventh or otherwise?” Ariens said.
“It’s going to be a tough conversation, but it’s a conversation we’re going to have to have with the families at some point because, you know, that plaza belongs to the community,” he said. “I’m not taking away from the families. I’m not. I’m not taking anything from them. But, I mean, we’ll be a year in May, the 24th. We’ve been through all the birthdays. We’ve been through all the holidays, and we need to have a conversation with them.
