EasyJet said on Nov. 19 it would offset carbon emissions across its network from this financial year, allowing it to operate net-zero carbon flights.
The British budget airline said it would spend 25 million pounds for the financial year ending Sept. 30, 2020 to fund carbon offset projects such as planting trees. EasyJet reported pre-tax profit of 427 million pounds for the year to Sept. 30, 26% lower than the previous year but in line with analysts’ expectations. Revenue rose to 6.4 billion pounds from 5.9 billion pounds.
