Despite a sub-.500 regular season in 2022, the Panthers still managed to earn a little momentum inside the District 3 4A bracket, easily topping Kennard-Dale in the opening round before digging in against Bishop McDevitt in the quarters. With multi-year starter Keith Oates III returning under center, not to mention a dozen or so key contributors back for another go, East Pennsboro sure looked like a preseason favorite in the Colonial Division.And although RB JJ Gossard carried just 13 times for 69 yards last season, the junior has emerged as another weapon in what has been an explosive East Pennsboro offense.
Gossard’s latest performance came against Shippensburg, a 17-carry, 78-yard effort that helped the Panthers notch a 34-14 win and stay in line for a division title. The RB also posted a season-high two touchdowns. Gossard has turned 133 rush attempts this season into 565 yards with four scores.
