San Diego County communities are celebrating Earth Day and/or Arbor Day in April with cleanups, festivals, tree plantings and expos
A beach cleanup is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. April 22 at the Oceanside Municipal Pier by the Outerknown tent, hosted by Outerknown and the Encinitas-based Changing Tides Foundation. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., stop by The Ozone store, 102 Mission Ave., for refreshments, snacks, gifts with purchase, a drawing to win Outerknown gear, and a make-and-take craft activation by the Changing Tides Foundation. Open to all ages. A portion of proceeds from sales benefits the Changing Tides Foundation.
International food court, live music and DJs, speakers and demos, and kid-friendly activities. The event will be held on the lawn at Park Boulevard and Presidents Way. Free parking available. This is a zero-waste event, and a portion of profits will be donated to local nonprofits.
