“It was really born out of COVID. Back when COVID was here we had such a need for ICU beds in our facility. We had patients we were caring for in alternative areas of the hospital,” Executive Vice President for East Alabama Heath, Greg Nichols said. “I think it’s great because this is a growing area,” said Gwendolyn Dees-Hughley, an Opelika resident.
