The electric vehicle industry in the country is hopeful of more tax breaks after the DTI has endorsed a version of an executive order, which includes electric motorcycles in the import tariff incentives. ManilaBulletin
The inclusion of e-motorcycles in the tax break has been aggressively pushed by various groups after it was excluded in the original version of the Executive Order 12 which took effect on Feb, 20 this year.
The EO would be subjected to a mandatory review after its effectivity, which will fall in February next year. Several stakeholders of the EV industry aired their concerns when e-motorcycles were not given tax breaks and called on the concerned government agencies to amend the executive issuance.
